Existing
Build Ecobead Platinum
The
Installation of Ecobead Platinum is both simple
and efficient. A series of 22mm holes are drilled in such
a way to guarantee complete fill of the cavity every time.
The injection nozzle is placed in each hole, the system set into
motion and the polystyrene beads injected into the cavity under
pressure, having been coated in a thin uniform layer of adhesive.
When each hole is filled the backpressure causes the system to shut
down, thus cancelling out the possibility of overfills. This
process is carried out on every injection hole from the lowest level
to the highest, thus guaranteeing a complete fill of the cavity
every time.
Due to the unique flow characteristics of Ecobead Platinum within
a cavity wall situation, the number of holes required is kept to
a minimum. This can be approximately half the number of holes
drilled by installers using various other types of materials.
This
specially adapted drilling pattern leaves the making good process
on all existing properties much easier than some other systems,
due to the reduced number of injection holes and the fact that each
is only 22mm in diameter.

of Ecobead Platinum
- Further
Reduces heat loss by 15-20% through the walls, reducing fuel bills
- Better
thermal performance than other systems due to low thermal conductivity
(K Value = 0.033 W/m2K)
- Further
reduces carbon dioxide emissions
- Improved
Living conditions
- Constant
density
- Will
not crack or settle and full guarantee policy
- Will
not transmit water
- Can
be installed in all weather climates

The
table below shows u-values for some typical cavity wall construction
before and after Ecobead Platinum is installed.
The term u-value is the rate to which heat passes through a wall:
the higher the u-value the more rapidly heat is transmitted through
the walls.

New Build Ecobead
Platinum
The installation of Ecobead
Platinum into a building under construction is both simple
and efficient. A series of 22mm holes are drilled on either
the inside or outside leaf of the cavity wall. The normal
practice is to drill the inner leaf as the holes then disappear
after plastering.
After drilling, the injection
nozzle is placed in each hole, the system set into motion and the
polystyrene beads injected into the cavity under pressure, having
been coated in a thin uniform layer of adhesive. When each
hole is filled the backpressure causes the system to shut down,
thus cancelling out the possibility of overfills. This process
is carried out on every injection hole from the lowest level to
the highest.
